UVMARC board dissolves;
license remains active

Dated: Monday, July 8th, 2019

It is with sadness to report that the United Veterans of Maine ARC has decided to dissolve the board and all active memberships with the club. This decision, made unanimously, was made as we have lost two of our board members via resignation and that would have put our board down to three. While the board and active memberships has been dissolved, the club amateur radio license will remain active unless the Trustee decides to cancel it.

Until a time is reached where this club can have an active board, no further meetings are to be scheduled. We will continue to offer testing on a monthly basis. More information can be found by clicking HERE. It is the overall hope of the group to rekindle this club at a later date, provided enough operators are willing to come together and offer a knowledgebase that is beneficial to the amateur radio service and our region.

Our Weekly Net will continue tentatively until September 1st, 2019 and a decision will be made prior to determine if that net will continue going forward. Lastly, the club web site will remain maintained until that same time, with a decision to keep it going be made beforehand. In closing, it has been a pleasure to serve Aroostook County and look forward to another opportunity to do it again!
